STM fully operational!

Our scanning tunneling microscope is now fully operational (…just a few short years later than anticipated)! The figure below shows our preliminary efforts to characterize a monolayer graphene device at 5 K. In magnetic field of 5 T, we see a rich sequence of Landau levels that can be doped by a graphite gate (left). At charge neutrality, we further see the formation of a Kekulé reconstruction that spontaneously triples the area of the unit cell (right). Now, we are moving on to exciting new experiments with other 2D materials!
